Human Resources Information System defined the combination of human function and technology which is the application enable to make the managerial became more effective and systematic. Thus, the application enables facilitate the function of HR and make up to date about the information on develops the company to achieve goals.
Besides that, information technology important to built a business strategy to maintain in the markets and competes force although have a rivalry or new entrance products or services competitor. The organization may use the information to address the advantage of competitor and find out the way to make new strategy. Example, company should promote their products or services through the blogs or social networking such as Facebook and Twitter. These have large users and most visited where the information very faster to people concerned about it.
Next, globalising make the business have easy to enter the certain country. The regulation and policies of the countries make a business turn to challenging includes the internal resources and obstacle to move forward. However, company should have a appropriate model to adapt with their culture as responsiveness through local differentiation or global integration. Each of the strategy need model have a strength and weakness that company must decided which is a model is appropriated with the local branches either using the multi-national, global or international. Transnational model is the combination of these and add value to ensured be a systematic and effective.


Next, I have learned about globalising Human Resources Information System which consists of available programs in the global used of the company.  At the beginning, I felt difficult to differentiated models between multinational, global, international and transnational. There have a different terms and make me confused.  The activities in the class help me to understand about the term and examples that presented by our members. Besides that, we also shared the information and ideas during the discussion session. Every model has advantages and disadvantages but there should emphasize to deal with exploiting a particular strategic capability such as responsiveness, efficiencies or innovation. The right decision on practise the model might be the company adapt with the external forces.

I realized which the certain company have an own strategic needs to responsive with the local differentiation, integration or worldwide innovation. The Allianz Bulgaria using the centralized or global system because of competitive pressure and global regulatory. This is to ensure Allianz able to provide the faster services in operation and address the advantages with competitor. The centralising system enable Allianz Bulgaria reduces the cost and staff for front sales. Besides that, it will improve the flexibility and ranges of products and services.


I found that the information technology is not focus to the managerial system but these also useful to develop strategy on the business. Thereby, Broadbent & Weill (1993) referred to alignment of business and IT strategy as “the extent to which business strategies were enabled, supported and stimulated by information strategies. It also makes me concerned that how the strategic information technology (IT) enable be an advantages or opportunities to certain company have a competitive force with others. Example, Tesco is the hypermarkets from UK where they always give the cheaper prices toward the groceries and other stuff. Recently, Tesco also able compete with other hypermarkets in Malaysia such as Giant, Mydin or others. They were research about the advantages of local competitor through technologies.

            They have strategies to compete with others to leading in the market through find competitive advantages. They should develop strategies and consider these forces such as rivalry competitors within the market to expand the business to the over state of Malaysia with make a promotion using the web site online, SMS or email to the customer. According to Gadiesh & Gilbert, (2001), IT will be used to facilitate electronic communication to support business processes and needs. These might help to distribution the information quickly. Tesco is the first hypermarket in Malaysia provide free member card to collecting rewards during shopping where this strategy to ensured maintain a loyal customer. Tesco was taken approaches differentiation strategy because their promotion allows the transaction online and provided the free member card to maintain a loyal customer.

What is HRIS (Human Resources Information System)

The changing of technology affects  to the world  includes a duty of Human Resources. HRIS is combination of information technology and Human Resources Management that which a system centralized on software,tools, broad networking to ensured the standard of company being effective and achieve the goals.

According to Asafo(2007), HRIS defines as a technology-based system used to acquire, store, manipulate, analyze, retrieve, and distribute related with information regarding organization human resources. The information enable make the HR department a have a standard and more efficient on managing or administration in various area of company.

            Previous posted, i shown the overview about HR activities. The activities include a transactional, traditional and transformational.  Transactional defines as routine activities such as bookkeeping task. Example, HR manager may collect up to date personnel data from the employees using the web system. Employees have a power to fill their data on the system such as changing address or apply for leave. 


When I was practical at Labour Offices, I found that staffs who want to apply the leave should be filling in HRMIS system.

               Next, Traditional is the activity focused on HR program such as selection, performance appraisal and etc. The system easy to HR accesses to identified the area need the manpower to accomplish the task or increase the productivity.The advertising of vacancy will be put on the website to reduces the cost such as company web pages,Job Streets and others,  Besides that, it also includes the promotion to increase the satisfaction of employees. The system will shown the accurate data on performances appraisal. Other that, reported about the performances appraisal able be analysed using the systems. Example, punch card machine has changes with the thumbs prints scanner where evaluation easy commits by HR to overcome discipline problems and increase the payroll system. 

                Transformational system refers to activities might add value to the company. The company will sent their employees to training where to increase the quality of work aligning with the reach of missions. Example, employees unable used the computer or lack of KSA about the technologies should be trained. They might be taught with the simulation and demonstration to ensure that will be transfer in real works.
